โœฆ Synopsis

A nonlinear variable structure (VS) system is presented, suitable for smooth trajectory generation in motion control system. Joined to a rough reference trajectory generator (step, ramp, etc.) it provides smooth output signals according to user-selectable bounds on trajectory derivatives. The bounds on output derivatives can be changed during system operation without impairing system stability. Moreover, minimum time response with guaranteed no overshoot is ensured both in the continuous and discrete-time implementations. The main contribution of the paper lies in the discrete-time version of the trajectory generator. The performance of the proposed nonlinear "lters is tested through simulation experiments. Simulation results concerning the use of the discrete "lter in a position tracking control system are also presented.

This note considers a new class of nonparametric estimators for nonlinear time-series models based on kernel smoothers. Various new results are given for two popular nonlinear time-series models and compared with the results of Thavaneswaran and Peiris (Statist. Probab. Lett. 28 (1996) 227).

This paper discusses nonlinear complementarity problems; its goal is to present a globally and superlinearly convergent algorithm for the discussed problems. Filter methods are extensively studied to handle nonlinear complementarity problem. Because of good numerical results, filter techniques are a

In this article, we first reformulate the generalized nonlinear complementarity problem (GNCP) over a polyhedral cone as a smoothing system of equations and then suggest a smoothing Broyden-like method for solving it. The proposed algorithm has to solve only one system of nonhomogeneous linear equat
