Thermometric titration of boric acid and phenol with NaOH has allowed the DH of neutralization and K a for each acid to be determined with excellent precision. From these, DG and DS can be calculated, providing a complete thermodynamic profile of the reaction. This approach makes use of constant rates of titrant addition and novel nonlinear curve fitting procedures for data analysis.
