5. CONCLUSION

A method of calculation of resonant input resistance for rectangular antenna elements with various substrate thicknesses has been developed and successfully implemented.

It is based on the refinement of the cavity model considering the antenna in the fundamental modes and is modeled by a simple resonant parallel RLC circuit in series with feed probe conductance. It takes into account the physical properties of the antenna and the quality factors associated with the antenna losses. This technique has been successfully used to calculate the resonant input resistance of antenna elements with thin substrates.

Among the important contributions of the work described in this article are A d i s c u s i o n of rcsonant resistance of rectangular antcnna elemcnts with various substrate thicknesses. The theoretical development enables rapid computation of input resistance of probe-fed rectangular antenna clcmcnts with various substrate thicknesses and relativc permittivities.

Experimcntal rncasurements are used to test and verify the method that is developed.
