Petroleum heavy oil was used as the hydrogen donor and anthracene oil as the co-solvent in the liquefaction of some Colombian coals. It was found that the addition of anthracene oil enhanced the hydrogen donor ability of the petroleum heavy oil, as measured by the THF soluble products. The maximum c
