Experimental differential elastic cross sections for 'Li+-Na collisions (17 < Ec m < 77 eVI reflect strong rotational coupling between nuclear and electronic motion. Good agreement is found with cks'sections calculated from model potentids. Rainbow scattetilg of Na'on L.i has been observed.

โฆ Synopsis
Adiabatic potentia? curves and wavefunctions tie been calculated for ground and excited states of diatomic molecules formed from an alkali atom (Li, Na, K) and an alkali ion or rare gas atom (Li+, Naf, I<+, He, Ne, .&I. A model potential method has been used. The energies are believed to be reliable within a few lo-* eV. From these potentkl curves and the nonadiabatic couplicg matrix elements, elastic and inelastic differential cross sections have been obtained for the system Lii
