✦ Synopsis

Effects of localized treatments with gibberellin on floral morphology and growth of eggplant were confined to the treated part of the plant and were not transmitted to other parts. Single applications caused strong and long-lasting effects, similar to those of repeated applications over a prolonged period. The data suggest that gibberellin induced a self-sustaining process in the apices of treated branches.
