✦ Synopsis

Vernal and atopic keratoconjunctivitis are ocular allergies which may result in debilitating visual sequelae. Refractory cases which fail to respond to traditional anti-allergy medical therapies may benefit from novel medical approaches. Moreover, advanced inflammatory surface disease with scarring may require penetrating keratoplasty for optical improvement. This paper examines the role of non-traditional therapies in the treatment of vernal and atopic keratoconjunctivitis.
