Room-temperature lifetimes of the 'Do emission of Eu 3+ in Na3[Eu(oxydiacetate),]\*2NaCI0,+6H20 (EuODA\*H20) and Na,]Eu(oxydiacetate)s]~2NaC104~6Ds0 (EuODA.DsO) are reported. Radiative and non-radiative contributions to the total excited-state relaxation rate are determined for both compounds. It is

β¦ Synopsis
Rcceivcd 5 alarch 1984 Non-radiative rchsation by multi-phonon emission has been invcstigatcd for the 5D1 level of Eu3+ in ?iaGdTiO,l. The SD,+ SDo relaxation rate has been evaluated in the temperature region between 4.2 K and room tempentUre. The temper-OtUrc dcpcndence of the relaxation rate points to a fifth-order process. The frequency of the emitted phonons corresponds with that of the Cd-O strerching vibrations.
