✦ Synopsis

Oxy-en enriched with ' 7O has been used to investinatc the nature of oxygen species adsorbed on oxides. The z variations in the hyperfine constants of Oi, snx~ll (< 3%) for .?l_rO and ZnO, are due to different adsorption sites.

Thev become large (> 15%) for supported molybdenum due to the different spin densities on the IWO nuclei showins that 0; is probably adsorbed at an angle to the surfucc.

A systematic study of the solubility of PbO in the (Bil \_xPbx)2Sr2CaCu208 +y compound at various oxygen partial pressures has been carried out. The solubility was found to increase as the oxygen partial pressure decreased. The change in lattice parameter with PbO concentration supported the solubil
