Titania powders were synthesized by a sol-gel process using titanium tetrabutoxide as a precursor. The syntheses were performed in water or in saturated aqueous solutions of KCl, CaCl 2 , NiCl 2 , CoCl 2 , and MnCl 2 . It is demonstrated, by X-ray diffraction patterns of the synthesized powders that
