✦ Synopsis

What if your nightmares were real?

Terryn Lofton has a secret. She’s bound to her twin brother, Trigg. If she gets too far, she feels excruciating pain. No one knows, including Trigg, and she plans to keep it that way because Trigg is seriously sick. When a new doctor, who Trigg knows from his dreams, appears after his sleep study, Terryn learns Trigg also has a secret. His night terrors are real.

If Trigg doesn’t travel to a parallel world to become a dream guardian, he’ll die. The twins prepare to leave, but when Trigg crosses the portal, the bond between them breaks. The resulting multidimensional explosion separates the twins and frees an ancient entity who promises to reunite them, if only Trigg will help it defeat death.

Trigg agrees, not realizing some things are worse than death. Terryn, meanwhile, will do anything to save Trigg from his fateβ€”even if she must sacrifice everything she ever wanted for herself.

No Time to Cry is Book 1 of The Dream Guardian Series, a dual POV fantasy adventure, that includes magic, danger, mythical monsters, and morally grey characters who populate wondrous worlds that exist just beyond the boundaries of Earth.

Editorial Reviews

"The dream realm is an ambitious theme for a fantasy book: seemingly simple but challenging if you want to do it right. Henry owns this theme, and the result is a marvelous story. This book is perfect for those who enjoyed Laini Taylor's Daughter of Shadow and Bone."

– 5-starred review by Paula GarcΓa Lasa for Readers' Favorite

"For fans of Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, and Rowling’s Harry Potter, this first in a new fantasy series, is an epic adventure that will have readers anxious to follow the plot to its complex and unexpected climax. ...[It] is a classic for young adult readers who want to believe that there is something distinctly different and exciting beyond our present realm of existence."
