β¦ Synopsis
New OCR, formatted, proofed, v1.2.
Milo March, private eye, whom we first met in Hangmanβs Harvest, is sent by Army intelligence into the Soviet Zone in Germany on an impossibly dangerous mission. Rand Carmill, an important British diplomat, has just disappeared behind the iron curtain, a particularly serious business, for he possesses enough knowledge of British and American codes to interpret future movements of those countries for some time. In addition, Carmill is a close personal friend of a famous British physicist, David Warner, who is working in the British Sector on Britainβs top-secret project: experiments with the limbs and brains of animals and humans the results of which could produce a nation of geniusesβor idiots!
The job of finding these two men would take a guy who is ruthlessly tough and who thinks fast on his feet. Only Milo March could fit those qualifications. So March, disguised as an American Communist delegate to a world conference in Berlin, begins his perilous assignment in the whirlpool of international espionage, and nearly loses his life at the hands of his Commie hosts. His life is not made any safer by the presence of the sensuous Frieda Schonbeck who willingly gives herself to men (including Milo) for the glory of the party. Luckily Milo finds Greta Brooks much more attractive to him physically and of infinitely more help in the accomplishment of his mission.
NO GRAVE FOR MARCH is as up-to-date as todayβs headlines. It is as frightening, intriguing, and fast-moving as the best of any suspense movie you've ever seen.
