✦ Synopsis
Alternate molecules of N,N 0 -bis(pyridin-4-ylmethyl)succinamide and terephthalic acid, each of which is located about a centre of inversion, are linked by strong O-HÁ Á ÁN hydrogen bonds to form strands in the title compound, C 16 H 18 N 4 O 2 ÁC 8 H 6 O 4 . In addition, strong N-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds between the N,N 0 -bis(pyridin-4-ylmethyl)succinamide molecules of adjacent strands link the latter to form sheets.

In the title compound, C 11 H 14 N 4 , the dihedral angle between the ring planes is 74.76 (8) . In the crystal structure, N-HÁ Á ÁN hydrogen bonds result in centrosymmetric dimers.

The Ag I atom in the title compound, [Ag(C 5 H 6 N 2 ) 2 ] 2 -(C 8 H 4 O 4 )Á10H 2 O, shows linear coordination. The cation and centrosymmetric anion interact indirectly via the noncoordinated water molecules, to furnish a tightly held threedimensional structure.
