Multinuclear high resolution 10 and 20 NMR is widely used to study surfactant aggregates in solution. Water structure at the micellar surface, counterion competition, orientation and penetration, surfactant-surfactant and surfactant-solute interactions, surfactant conformational changes on micellisation, peptide conformation on the surface of micelles, polynucleotide interactions and ion channelling in ves icles have all been investigated recently.
