β¦ Synopsis
Ala~a~tet--Syndiotactic polypropylene has been studied by investigation of NMR line-width and second moment at various temperatures. Results for the syndiotactic material are compared with those for atactic and isotactic polypropylene. Line width and second moment of the absorption line were evaluated for temperatures between -196 Β° and 100 Β°. Activation energies were calculated for the main transition. There was evidence that, from the point of view of NMR, the behaviour of the syndiotactic polymer lies between those of the atactic and isotactic polymers.

The directional solidification of polypropylene (PP) films results in an oriented semicrystalline microstructure and may offer a method to improve the properties of a product. The directional solidification of isotactic PP samples blended with 0% to 50% atactic PP, by mass, was therefore studied. Th
Effects of annealing and atactic fraction on structural properties of isotactic polypropylene were investigated using various methods which included X-ray, NMR and DSC. Annealing at elevated temperatures results in considerable increases in crystallinity, ~m, crystal thickness, lc, heat of fusion, A
