## Abstract Carbon‐13 NMR chemical shifts and one‐bond carbon–hydrogen coupling constants have been obtained at 15·09 MHz. The trends in the carbon chemical shifts obtained for the pyrazines parallel those of monosubstituted benzenes and 2‐substituted pyridines, except for the __direct__ effect of

## Abstract The ^13^C‐NMR spectra of four cyclopeptide alkaloids, namely zizyphine‐A (**2**), amphibine‐D (**3**), amphibine‐E (**4**), and zizyphine‐D (**5**), have been studied. Conclusions have been drawn concerning the conjugation in the alkoxystyrylamine unit present in these compounds.
