✦ Synopsis

The N.M.R. spectra of dihydrostreptomycin (I) sulfate, N-methyldihydrostreptomycin (11) trihydrochloride, a-and j3-methyl dihydrostreptobiosaminide (VI and VII), and dideguanyldihydrostreptornycin (VIII) were taken in deuterium oxide. The J12 values of the anomeric protons of the dihydrostreptose and the L-glucosarnine fragment were in agreement with the a-L configuration of the two glycosidic linkages of the streptomycin molecule proposed by McGilveray and Rinehart [Z].
