## Abstract Trends in total ozone for the period 1963โ1974 at Australian stations Darwin, Brisbane, Aspendale and Macquarie Island have been discussed. Only Aspendale has a decreasing trend, which may be statistically significant. Trends in ozone at other places are not statistically significant.

Predictive models are built for the mean ground concentration of ozone and nitrogen dioxide on data consisting of 5 years of daily averages. We ยฎnd the smallest averaging time over which a model with a deterministic trend and an autoregressive error distribution passes a number of statistical tests.
## Abstract Results are presented of measurements of stratospheric water vapour over Mildura (34ยฐS 140ยฐE) Australia. The mean mixing ratio between 15 and 21 km is approximately 2โ7ppm and is closely approximated below 15km by an exponential profile with a height constant of 2โ4km.
In order to investigate the possible formation of mutagenic compounds from alkenes emitted in ambient air, laboratory experiments were performed with Salmonella typhimurium strain TAlOO in a small-scale flow-through exposure system. The reaction time for mixtures of alkenes with ozone or nitrogen di
