The crystal structure of ethyl 2,3,5,6-tetramethylbenzoate, C 13 H 18 O 2 , has been determined and torsion angles are compared to those previously reported in a dipole moment study of substituted benzoates.

methylpyrazine and two p-nitrophenol molecules form a centrosymmetric unit. Intermolecular O-HÁ Á ÁN and weak C-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds are observed in the structure, leading to the formation of a two-dimensional network.
