โœฆ Synopsis

This paper reports on a new flow-through potentiometric sensor system with miniaturized nitrate and reference electrodes. The influence of parameters such as flow rate and membrane thickness on the nitrate sensor system are discussed in respect to an application in environmental monitoring of nitrate for example in ground water and water plants. The developed sensor system has a small size, shows a linear working range extending from 1.0~10-~ to about lo-* mol/l and a lifetime of more than 6 months. Due to only negligible interferences of the nitrate determination from chloride and sulfate in the system, this system is useful for continuous sensing of the environmental status in groundwater reservoirs.
