โœฆ Synopsis

Brighton, CO, selected reverse osmosis (RO) for treatment of its water from five shallow alluvial wells. Main concerns are high nitrate concentrations, TDS, and trihalomethane precursors. By selecting RO, the city will reduce the load on the South Platte River since residents would no longer use ion.exchange softening units. A 11,000 sq. ft., 4 mgd RO water treatment facility was completed in 1993 at a cost of $8,253,000, includiug the concentrate and pipelines.
