β¦ Synopsis
For both scientific and personal reasons, I was very saddened to learn of the unexpected death of Professor Nikolai Koroteev of Moscow State University. Nikolai was clearly a leading pioneer in the application of nonlinear laser spectroscopy to problems of molecular chirality and biological molecules. Victor Zadkov and Andrey Chikishev of Moscow State University and Bruce Hudson of Syracuse University have written this memorial tribute to his many accomplishments and contributions. At the time of his death, Nikolai and I were in the early stages of a joint project, and I will greatly miss his vision, leadership, and courage.
