The European Journal of Immunology invited representatives of two members of the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS), Japan and Turkey (also an EFIS member), to present their societies in this month's 'News and EFIS' section. Below the organising committees are introduced, they describe to us what activities were organised for the Day of Immunology, and give us an insight into the promotion of immunology in their respective countries.
