The symptoms of Usher's syndrome - congenital hearing impairment and tapetoretinal dystrophy - are difficult to detect in young children. The electroretinogram (ERG), visual evoked potential (VEP), auditory nerve and brain-stem responses as well as the cochlear microphonic potentials were used to ev
