A new injectable and self-crosslinkable bone substitute (IBS2) was developed for filling bone defects. The IBS2 consisted of a chemically modified polymer solution mixed with biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP) ceramic particles. The polymer hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose was functionalized with silanol

✦ Synopsis
Abstract
New alkylene‐polyethers, OPh(CH~2~)__n__PhOPhXPh with X = SO~2~, CO are described that undergo an unexpected crosslinking reaction at temperatures ≧ 250°C. ^H^NMR indicates the participitation of methylene groups in the vicinity of the aromatic ring and of the phenyl rings of the diarylsulphone moiety in this crosslinking reaction.
The crosslink density can be regulated via copolyaddition with bisphenol A. Polyethers of the general structure OPhRPhOPhXPh with R = (CH~2~)~6~ + C(CH~3~)~2~, X = SO~2~, CO are easily processable, impact and solvent resistant. ESR measurements correlate with the ^H^NMR findings and identify the crosslinking as a radical reaction.
A crosslink mechanism is proposed and substantiated by the synthesis of specific model polymers.

Thermally-induced self-crosslinking behaviour has been found in copolymers containing Nmethyl-N-vinylbenzylpyrrolidinium chloride (MVBPC) and methyl methacrylate (MMA). NMR, IR and low molecular weight model reactions demonstrate that this crosslinking reaction occurs between the methyl ester groups
## Abstract **Summary:** Amphiphilic hyperbranched polyester (H20‐AM) with methacrylate end groups was synthesized based on hyperbranched aliphatic polyester (Boltorn™ H20). Narrow‐dispersed crosslinkable vesicles were obtained by dissolving H20‐AM in water, and characterized by laser light scatter
