โฆ Synopsis
Oxford Instruments Superconducting NMR Oxford Instruments announce the development of a new series of high resolution superconductive magnet systems for NMR spectroscopy. The magnets are available in modular form, whereby a low resolution system may be upgraded to high resolution at any time by the addition of shim coil stages. Typical performance is an homogeneity of several parts in 1Olo in a 5 m m diameter spun sample. It is capable of producing fields up to 85 kG, suitable for 220 to 360MHz proton resonance. Efficiency in terms of liquid helium consumption is less than 2 litres per day.
Already orders for 270 and 360MHz instruments have been confirmed from Europe and the USA with excellent prospects of orders for several more systems early this year.
