โœฆ Synopsis

We present theoretical and experimental preparations for an indirect search for new physics (NP) using the rare decay B d โ†’ K * 0 ฮผ + ฮผ -. We design new observables with very small theoretical uncertainties and good experimental resolution.

LHCb is an experiment designed to search for evidence of new physics effects through precise measurements of decays of B and D mesons. Already with the early data from the first LHC running it is possible to assess the performance of the detector and to understand better the potential of the LHCb fl

Our knowledge of the quark-mixing matrix and of CP violation has been tremendously improved thanks to the B factories and Tevatron: the KM mechanism is the dominant source of CP violation at the electroweak scale. LHCb is one of the six experiments being constructed on the Large Hadron Collider acce
