โฆ Synopsis
A specific form of dimensional analysis has been employed to show that the electromagnetic gauss unit (for intensity of magnetization) is equivalent to a simple cgs quantity of 1.759 X 107 sec -1. Then, considering equivalences for known intensities of magnetization of the earth and certain stars in the hypothesis of P. M. S. Blackett (concerning the magnetic fields of massive rotating bodies), it is concluded from the dimensional method that t~b --1.295 X 10-Scm g-1 is a valid constant of astronomy and classical mechanics. Further, it has been noted that the two quantities Gt,b -* and rn,2cSh-lou -~ were each equal to the same quantity, Fg = 3.978 X 108g cm sec -2, signifying phenomenologic interrelationships among electromagnetic, quantum, and classical physics. From this it has then been concluded that another quantity M, = mea, -1 = 1.248 X 10 -2~ g may represent a general constant of all submicroscopic physics.
Thus, the three quantities ub, M,, and Fg are suggested as new physical constants. As formulated, the latter quantity Fa appears to correlate the mechanical and magnetic phenomena of either astronomic or submicroscopic particles and media; therefore, it is proposed as a broadly applicable constant of nature.
