โœฆ Synopsis

This paper is concerned with the nonoscillation of first order delay differential equations of the form

is nondecreasing, ฯ„ (t) < t for t t 0 and lim t โ†’โˆž ฯ„ (t) = โˆž. New nonoscillation conditions are obtained. These conditions concern the case when the well-known nonoscillation condition t ฯ„ (t) p(s) ds 1/e is not satisfied.

Two nonoscillatory characterizations of solutions of the half-linear second-order differential equation of the form [p(t)ly'l~-ly'] ' + q(t)lyla-ly = o, a > o are established for 7r(t0) := fto(P(S))-l/a ds < oo, and ~r(t0) = oo, respectively. Using these results, we obtain some sufficient conditions
