✦ Synopsis
A generalized tanh function method is used for constructing exact travelling wave solutions of nonlinear partial differential equations in a unified way. The main idea of this method is to take full advantage of the Riccati equation which has more new solutions. More new multiple soliton solutions are obtained for the general Burgers-Fisher equation and the Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation.

To certain nonlinear evolution equations, the tanh method has been generalized for constructing not only solitary-wave but also soliton-like solutions. In this paper, no loss of conciseness, we further extend the generalized tanh method with computerized symbolic computation to a pair of generalized
In this paper we study the generalized Burgers equation u t + (u 2 /2) x = f (t)u xx , where f (t) > 0 for t > 0. We show the existence and uniqueness of classical solutions to the initial value problem of the generalized Burgers equation with rough initial data belonging to L ∞ (R), as well it is o
