The crude aqueous extract of a field collected strain of Microcystis aeruginosa (KΓΌtz) showed antiviral activity against influenza A virus. The concentration for 50% inhibition of virus replication in MDCK cells was 11 g dry extract/mL. The virus specific protein synthesis decreased if the extract w
