✦ Synopsis

Several .3(2H)-pyridazinones 4 were prepared from monophenvlhydrazones of 1,2 dicarbonyl compounds 1 and various active methylene compounds 2 within 1-15 minutes, without solvent, under microwave irradiation, in the presence of carefully adjusted amounts of piperidine or solid potassium t-butoxide. The intermediate alkenes 3 were successfully prepared in several cases.
