✦ Synopsis

The reaction 4°Ca(or, p)4aSc was studied at 9 and 10 MeV incident energy. The energy levels of ~aSc were determined with a high resolution magnetic spectrograph up to 2.1 MeV excitation. New levels were observed at 1.34, 1.41, 1.64, 1.88 and 1.91 MeV. The reaction mechanism and the nature of the low-lying 4aSc levels are discussed.
