Twenty-seven patients with recurrent pleomorphic adenomas of the parotid gland were seen. This study confirms that superficial parotidectomy with identification and dissection of the facial nerve greatly decreases the incidence of recurrent benign pleomorphic adenoma, and, in the small number that r
