✦ Synopsis
A new form of iron(III) orthovanadate(V) FeVO 4 •1.5H 2 O was prepared at low temperature from mixing a boiling solution of iron nitrate with boiling solution of vanadium oxide (obtained by reacting V 2 O 5 with few mL of 30 vol.% H 2 O 2 following by a dilution with distilled water). The mixture was maintained under stirring for several days at 85 • C in order the product reaches crystallinity. When iron nitrate solution was not heated and added to boiling vanadium oxide solution, it leads to FeVO 4 •1.1H 2 O phase similar to the fervanite mineral.
