✦ Synopsis

A new scheme is proposed to estimate the membership values for fuzzy sets. The scheme takes input from empirical / experimental data which re ects the expert's knowledge on the relative degree of belonging of the members. It then searches for the best ΓΏt (in terms of the minimization of a certain cost) membership values of the elements.

A new method is presented for the pole estimation of linear time invariant (LTI) systems. For a single input case, this method gives estimation of each pole of the system. For a multiple input case, it estimates the repeated system poles with multiplicity equal to the number of inputs. The new metho
