Condensation of diphenylhexatrienylpropanoyl hydrazide with stachyose oxidized to an aldehyde at C6 of the terminal galactose, followed by reduction with sodium borohydride yields diphenylhexatrienylpropanoylhydrazyl stachyose (glyco-DPH). This new fluorescence probe inserts almost instantaneously i
