✦ Synopsis


Laboratory experiments were carried out to evaluate and compare search methods and in order to make up a list of user problems. Subjects were presented with questions which were typed on cards and had to be answered with Viditel. Subjects needed four to six minutes for each question and used 2-5 to 3 times more pages than necessary. Dependent on the search method the percentage of questions for which the desired information was found was between 55% and 70%.
