✦ Synopsis
New developments in liquid hydrogen target systems used in high energy physics research are described. By utilizing mechanical refrigeration, hydrogen is both condensed and maintained as a liquid in the cooler system. The development of a novel, vacuum actuated, pneumatic type cryovalve has permitted rapid cycfing of the hazardous liquid between a thin walled target chamber and its valved condenser, which thus acts also as a storage tank for the liquid.
