✦ Synopsis


We report on the first achievement of tunable two-band ``one-micron'' CW oscillation in the ^2^F~5/2~ → ^2^F~7/2~ channel of Yb^3+^ activator ions in Sc~2~O~3~ ceramics with CW laser-diode pumping, as well as on results of precise measurement of the refractive index and its dispersion in spectral range 0.365-2.325 μm and full transmission spectra of undoped Sc~2~O~3~ ceramics fabricated by the VSN method.
