✦ Synopsis

Improved seal design provides low torque valve

A new seal option is claimed to give as much as 50% reduction in torque compared with regular full port valves in details released by Advanced Valve Technologies.

This has been achieved by an enhanced design of the company's range of full port reinforced composite ball valves, which is now available with new seats as an option for applications that are torque critical. Reduced torque can lead to greatly reduced total installed costs since a large portion of the cost of a typical flow management solution is related to the size and quantity of actuators required.

Advanced Valve Technologies specializes in applying reinforced composite technologies to valves and related products. It has a range of 20 bar rated ball and butterfly valves that offer intrinsic corrosion resistance and low weight for applications in the chemical, offshore and marine markets.
