achieved in submandibular and inguinal lymph nodes by ligation of lymph and blood vessels. Although hunour regression is not unusual, the spontaneous regression of all recorded metastases in the abdominal cavity was surprising. At 5 weeks after 'ischaemization' of primary skin melanomas and after devascularization of superficial lymph nodes, repeat laparotomies indicated that all metastases had shrunk to form minute scars 6-8mm in size.
