โœฆ Synopsis

We present results of an investigation of the antiferromagnetic ordering in YBa,Cu,O, for x = 6.0, 6.53 and 6.55 by neutron scattering.

For x = 6 the magnetic structure, the spin direction and the magnetic form factor have been determined.

For x = 6.55 we have observed the coexistence of antiferromagnetism and superconductivity.

Neutron diffraction experiments, performed on a powder sample, have shown that the reduced compound YBa2Cu306 orders with an antiferromagnetic structure at a temperature as high as 500 K. Magnetic moments of about 0.48 +\_0.05 Pa are aligned along the tetragonal c-axis and exhibit an antiferromagnet
