โฆ Synopsis
By considering the neutron scattering from magnetic systems, it is suggested that quantum entanglement can only be observed if the energy resolution of the experiment is smaller than the energy difference between the entangled state and most of the excitations of the system. This condition is not satisfied for the deep inelastic scattering measurements of hydrogen in metals, polystyrene or water. The theory put forward to explain the measurements is incorrect and inconsistent with the first moment sum rule. It is suggested that the measurements with the EVS spectrometer, that uniquely enables energy transfers of several eV to be measured, should be re-examined.
