The oxvfCen parameters x and t of ErPOa and ErVOa (I 4/amd) have been refined froa neutron diffraction powderdata by are 1.54 and 1.72 A least squares analysis.=The P.-O aGd_V-O dikances in the PO:-and VOZ-tetrahedra respectively. The bonding mechanism in the tetrahedra is discussed.
