New Ambra Odorants by Photoreactions of 15, 16‐Dinorlabd‐8(20)‐en‐13‐one.
UV.‐irradiation of 15,16‐dinorlabd‐8(20)‐en‐13‐one (1) led to the fragmentation product 4 and its photo‐cyclisation product 5. Ethers 6 and 7 and the βγ‐unsaturated alcohols 8 and 10 were formed via ketone 9, a double bond isomer of 1. The olfactory properties of the photo‐products are described.
