## Abstract Cyanothyl‐subsituted cylohexyl cyclohexanoates, bi(cyclohexanes) and phenyl cyclohexanes were synthisized. Their mesmorphic behaviour is compared to that of the corresponding cyano derivatives. (Cyanoethyl)cyclohexyl cyclohenxanoates show mesmorphic properties in contrast to the corresp
