The magnetic properties of surface layers of methane physisorbed on porous silicon have been studied in detail for several submonolayer coverages. At 0.6 monolayer, the spin-lattice relaxation time T, versus temperature showed two minima and two discontinuities between 1.3K and 73K, while at 0.3 mon
