Abstract

The fragmentation behaviour of a series of six avermectins and two of their derivatives has been studied in the negative‐ion mode in the presence of ammonia. In contrast with positive‐ion mass spectra the negative‐ion spectra show abundant ions in the high mass region. Molecular mass determination and rapid structural differentiation between all types of avermectins are possible.
