✦ Synopsis
Negative ion chemical ionization mass spectra of prostaglandin F,,, prostaglandin EZ, prostaglandin D2, 6-0x0prostaglandin F,,, 2,3-dinor-6-oxo-prostaglandin F,, , thromboxane B,, 2,3-dinor-thromboxane B,, and 1 l-dehydrothromboxane B2 pentafluorobenzyl ester (PFB)/methoxime/trimethylsilyl ether derivatives are presented. Collisionally activated decomposition mass spectra of the [M -PFBJ-ions at collision energies of 8-24 eV and argon collision gas pressures of 1-2 mTorr almost show only fragmentation of trimethylsilanol, (CH,),Si=CHOH, (CH,),Si=CH, and methanol whereas, except for carbon dioxide loss, only few low-intensity fragments from the carbon skeleton of the prostanoids are observed.

A novel chemical ionization/fast atom bombardment (CI/FAB) source was used to analyse alkenes by chemical ionization mass spectrometry (CI-MS) using copper ions as the ionizing agent. A gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) method is described which uses negative ion chemical ionization (NCI) and tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) for the determination of eight anabolic steroids in human urine. Eight anabolic steroids were derivatized by heptafluorobutyric anhydride (HFBA),
A negative ion chemical ionization (NICI) gas chromatographic/mass spectrometric method is described for the identification of 15 valproic acid (VPA) metabolites as their pentafluorobenzyl derivatives. Samples analyzed were serum, urine and saliva taken from a volunteer on VPA at steady state and al
